About the position

The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at the University of Zagreb invites applications for the position of Assistant (m/f) in the scientific area of Biotechnical Sciences, scientific field of Wood Technology. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 6 years at the Institute for Materials Technology.

Requirements

• Completed undergraduate and graduate university studies in the appropriate scientific area and field.
• Fulfilled requirements for enrollment in the doctoral study program in Forestry and Wood Technology, as per the relevant regulations.
• Communication and presentation skills, independence, organization, conscientiousness, and willingness to cooperate and work in a team.
• Previous recognitions, awards, or participation in scientific research work.
• Published papers or personal presentations at scientific conferences (if any).
• Proof of English language proficiency.
• For foreign citizens: proof of Croatian language proficiency at B2 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Applicants must submit a signed application including:

• CV with information on education and work experience.
• Diplomas of completed undergraduate and graduate studies.
• For studies completed outside Croatia: a decision on professional recognition of the foreign higher education qualification.
• Total grade point average at previous levels of study (undergraduate and graduate).
• Proof of English language knowledge.
• Proof of Croatian language knowledge (B2) for foreign citizens.
• Certificates of extracurricular, scientific, professional, and other activities.
• Proof of citizenship.
• Motivation letter.
• Electronic record of data from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (e-workbook), issued during the competition period.

Documents may be submitted as originals or uncertified copies. The signed application must include the applicant’s name, surname, address, telephone number, and email (for competition purposes only).

Additional Information

• Persons of both sexes may apply. Terms used in the masculine or feminine gender include both genders equally.
• Candidates who meet all formal requirements may be invited to a selection interview. The time and place will be communicated via email. Failure to respond to the interview invitation will be considered withdrawal from the competition.
• Candidates invoking priority in employment under the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families, the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War, the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids, or the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities must state this in their application and attach all required evidence. Priority will be granted only under equal conditions.
• The Faculty reserves the right not to select any candidate or to cancel or suspend the competition without explanation.
• By submitting documents, candidates consent to data processing solely for the competition procedure, in accordance with GDPR and relevant Croatian law.
