About the position

We are seeking to fill multiple positions within the new Collaborative Research Center (CRC 1780) “Food System Diversification for Sustainable Nutrition” (FoodDiverse), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The positions are available starting as soon as possible, initially for three years with the option to extend.

Available Positions

  • 24 Doctoral Researchers (TV-L pay grade 13, 65%)
  • 8 Postdoctoral Researchers (TV-L pay grade 13, 100%)

The FoodDiverse CRC analyzes relationships between diversification at various food system levels (e.g., agriculture, markets, diets) and planetary health in Germany and Ghana, in close cooperation with the University of Ghana. Researchers from diverse disciplines (e.g., agronomy, agricultural economics, sociology, environmental sciences, ecology, nutrition, human health) are integrated into 21 different CRC projects.

Your Tasks

  • Conduct research on CRC topics and projects, including method development, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and publication of results (for doctoral researchers, also preparation of dissertation)
  • Travel internationally for data collection, cooperation with partners, and presentation of results at conferences and workshops

Your Profile

  • University degree (Master for doctoral researcher; Doctorate for postdoctoral researcher positions) in subjects relevant to the respective CRC project(s)
  • Experience with food system-related topics (for postdoctoral researchers, documented through publications); interest in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally
