About the role
The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), through the Institut des Sciences des Plantes de Paris Saclay (IPS2), is recruiting a doctoral student (Doctorant / PhD student) for a full-time, 36-month fixed-term doctoral contract based in Orsay (91405), Essonne, France. Research context
Thesis subject
The doctoral project focuses on deciphering the interaction between transposable elements and host factors. The position is part of an ERC-funded project (grant agreement 101229950) that aims to understand how interactions between transposable elements and the host genome influence their evolutionary success, persistence, and impact on genome evolution.
Host team and environment
The doctoral researcher will join the “Plant Quantitative Genomics and Epigenomics” team at Université Paris-Saclay. The research is conducted in an interdisciplinary environment combining population genomics, epigenomics, computational biology, and molecular genetics. The project includes international collaborations and provides access to high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU resources.
Working conditions and benefits
