Original title: MOE START Scheme (Early Career Awards) – Food, Chemical and Biotechnology
About the Role
The MOE START Scheme (Early Career Awards) at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) supports outstanding young Singaporeans who have recently completed postdoctoral training and are interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT. The scheme is co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT. It is designed to enhance the teaching capabilities of the awardee and help build a strong research portfolio, preparing them for a faculty career at SIT.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Singapore Citizen
- Recently completed postdoctoral training
- Excellent academic record, with a high degree of proficiency and motivation in a research area strongly aligned with SIT’s supported areas
- Strong passion for teaching, research and an academic career
Benefits of the Award
- Awardees may receive research grants to help build a competitive research portfolio
- Upon successful completion of the award, awardees will be considered for an Assistant Professorship
- A faculty mentor will be assigned for the duration of the scheme
