Position Details

Title of the Position Offered: Postdoctoral position in the agri-food sector.

Project Title: Use of nanoemulsified essential oils in active packaging for antimicrobial purposes.

Duration: The term of this contract will be contingent upon the availability of funds for the aforementioned research line.

Required Qualification

Doctorate in degrees in the agri-food sector.

In the case of degrees obtained abroad (including EU degrees), candidates must provide proof that they hold the corresponding recognition or credential attesting to the equivalence of their degree, where applicable.

If the required academic degree is not held, applications may be accepted from those candidates who possess training and experience commensurate with the tasks to be performed and the merits to be evaluated:

• Training courses and/or courses from official university degrees related to food technology, food microbiology, and microbiological risk assessment.
• Professional experience of at least 12 months at the postdoctoral level.

Tasks to Be Carried Out

• Study of the effect of nanoemulsified antimicrobials in active packaging for the preservation of processed foods.
• Development of bacterial cellulose as a carrier for incorporating the nanoemulsions.
• Incorporation of these nanoemulsions into bacterial cellulose to improve their release from the packaging.
• Data analysis, modeling, and interpretation, as well as the preparation of reports and publications based on the results obtained.

Merits to Be Assessed and Evaluation Criteria

• Academic background (10%): Specialized academic training in the agri-food sector, with a focus on food technology, food microbiology, and microbiological risk assessment.
• Specific training (10%): Specific training related to the profile of the position being offered.
• Professional experience (40%): Postdoctoral research experience.
