About the position
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join a research team at UNIVERSIDAD POLITECNICA DE MADRID. The successful candidate will conduct research within the international PRIMA project QUINOA4MED_UP (2026–2029).
Key Responsibilities
- Process and analyze plant, soil, seed, and rhizosphere samples using molecular, biochemical, microbiological, and bioinformatics approaches.
- Characterize plant-associated microbial communities.
- Design and implement laboratory and controlled-environment experiments related to plant adaptation to abiotic stress and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Evaluate natural compounds with potential applications in sustainable crop management.
- Perform statistical analysis and integration of experimental data.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborative activities with international partners.
- Present research results at national and international scientific conferences.
- Contribute to scientific publications, technical reports, and dissemination activities.
- Develop a PhD thesis within the framework of the project.
